HELIDON
xhixa
In his sculptures, steel becomes light and, in turn, the reflective smoothness of the surface gives life to an enchanting illusionistic process, animated by unexpected, light and fleeting apparitions, ready to regenerate or disappear at the slightest movement of anyone who stands before them.
The Artist
Helidon Xhixha was born in Durrës, Albania, in December 1970. A born artist's son, he spent his childhood in his father Sali's studio, from whom he inherited a great passion for the "fine arts," but especially for sculpture. He began attending the Academy of Fine Arts in Tirana but then decided to move to Italy.
In 1998, thanks to a scholarship, he had the opportunity to attend Kingston University in London, where he honed his skills in engraving, sculpture, and photography. In February 1999, he graduated from the Brera Academy of Fine Arts in Milan. Since the beginning of 2000, he has been holding solo exhibitions in galleries around the world.
