The Artist and their expressive research
Jole Prato
After years dedicated to the decoration of grand Italian and international residences, Jole has brought her artisanal research to her studio.
Here, the creative process becomes ritual: her 'happy deceptions' – as she herself likes to call her trompe l'oeils – come to life on pure cotton canvases.
Using mixed media techniques that blend acrylics, watercolours and precious gold dust, the artist creates magical effects that challenge perception and touch the observer's heart.
Jole Prato's career is rooted in the fascination of visual illusion.
A set designer, theatre designer and costume designer, the artist has lent her talent to the most prestigious international theatres, an experience that has indelibly marked her aesthetic vision.
This theatrical heritage translates today into an almost obsessive attention to detail and a masterful use of colour, the core elements of all their creations.

There is a profound affinity between the meticulous gesture of an artist spreading gold dust onto a canvas and the patience of someone waiting for wine to reach its highest expression in the barrel.
For this second edition of "Luci e Respiri" (Lights and Breaths), we have chosen to leave the white walls of the Milanese gallery behind to immerse ourselves in the warm and authentic atmosphere of Cantina Monte del Frà. In this setting, Jole Prato's animal portraits, which verge on hyperrealism, are not merely exhibited: they converse with the stone architecture and the scent of wood.
The works, born from Jole's scenic mastery, find new light amongst the vineyards. It is an invitation to slow down, to observe the detail of a feather or the gaze of a predator, while sipping the excellence of a region that, much like art, requires care, time, and passion.
An exhibition itinerary designed to integrate with the winery's spaces and can be visited only until 30 June 18 July.
