CIRO PALUMBO
AND THE OLD MASTERS

The exhibition venue of Charles Beddington LTD, 16 Savile Row, London, hosts the exhibition Ciro Palumbo and the Old Masters, which can be visited from 4th October to 11th November, 2024.
Ciro Palumbo’s paintings blend elements of surrealism, metaphysics, and neoclassicism. His works frequently show the strong influence of Arnold Böcklin and Giorgio De Chirico, two of his key inspirations.
For the exhibition Ciro Palumbo and the Old Masters, however, we’ve established a dialogue between Ciro Palumbo’s art and the great masters of the past, in collaboration with Charles Beddington, a world authority on figures like Canaletto and the Venetian vedutisti.
London marks an important new chapter in Ciro Palumbo’s artistic journey, and this museum exhibition is an event not to be missed.

In his research he proceeds through moments of contemplation and metaphysical silences, contrasted with nocturnal and intimately troubled expressions, where there is a distinct detachment from the silent stillness that inhabits the Pictor Optimus canvases.
He was born in Zurich in 1965. His artistic journey takes its start from the poetics of the Metaphysical school of Giorgio de Chirico and Alberto Savinio, yet reinvents its foundations according to a completely original personal interpretation.
His works are thus presented as stages in which the objects present carry dreamlike symbolism.
Ciro Palumbo is not only a painter, but in fact a poet who reflects, acts and composes to combine metaphors about the elusiveness of time and the incommensurability of space, thus showing his ability to deepen his observation not so much of nature as of the imaginative impressions that come from memory.
