Emiliano Yuri Paolini was born in Rome in 1977 and graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in 2003, developing from the very beginning a multidisciplinary artistic research that spans painting, installation, photography and conceptual art. His first public work dates back to 1992 and is still on permanent display at the “Salvo D’Acquisto” secondary school. Throughout his career, he has distinguished himself for his free and experimental language, capable of moving between figuration, the informal and environmental installation. His first significant exhibition took place in 2005 with the solo exhibition “Things and Things Not Things” at the Museum of Palazzo dei Capitani in Ascoli Piceno. In the following years, he received important awards, including the Pandosia Prize in 2009, and participated in international exhibitions such as the exhibition in Shanghai at the prestigious Duluan Road on the occasion of the 2010 International Expo. In 2011 he created a solo exhibition at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Briançon, France, while in 2013 he presented the sculptural installation L’Eco dei Nostri Antenati at the Casa dell’Architettura in Rome for the event “In Viaggio con Calvino”; the work was subsequently acquired by the Municipality of San Venanzo as a public installation. In 2015 he was a finalist for the Arte Laguna Prize with the interactive installation Sopra il cappotto dei sogni, exhibited at the Arsenale in Venice, and in 2017 he participated in the Cairo Editor’s Art Prize. His work is included in the Enciclopedia d’Arte Italiana and continues to be appreciated for the ability to blend conceptual research, matter, and emotional involvement.
