The work

The project In too deep focuses on the relationship between network, image, identity, and artificial intelligence and represents a visual and conceptual exploration of the ways in which we perceive faces and images in the digital age. The title In too deep refers both to the feeling of being immersed too deeply in the flow of information on the web and to concepts such as deep learning and deep fake related to the use of artificial intelligence. The faces depicted are visual simulacra created by combining features extracted from the web; in fact, they are designed to appear familiar even though they are not linked to concrete identities. The eyes often appear closed or enigmatic, as a gesture of surrender or rejection to media tyranny, that is, the constant demand to see, watch, and consume moving and sequential images. In this project, the use of the network is a metaphorical tool to investigate contemporary phenomena in order to interrogate the way in which certain processes influence our perception of the world. our perception of reality, identity and authenticity

Giorgio Tentolini

Giorgio Tentolini was born in Casalmaggiore (Cremona) in 1978, where he lives and works. Each of his works emerges from a precise investigation into time as memory and identity, through careful study and a slow reconstruction involving the light and the etching of layers of different materials, such as fabrics, cards, and PVC. Currently, he favors tulle and metal mesh as the primary media of his research, for the meditative lightness these materials confer on the image, offering a metaphor of places, memories, dreams, and visions. His work, a cross between painting and sculpture, has received national and international recognition since the early 2000s. His works have been exhibited in prestigious venues in Europe, including Rome, Paris, Amsterdam, Berlin, London and Geneva, as well as in the United States and Taiwan, including public spaces of great importance such as the Italian Cultural Institute in Athens, the Etruscan Museum in Rome, the Royal Palace in Milan, the Regio Theatre in Parma, the MAR - Museum of Art of the City of Ravenna, the MUSA - Museum of Art of the City of Salò, the Legislative Assembly of the Emilia Romagna Region and the Council of the Lombardy Region in the Pirelli skyscraper in Milan. With great enthusiasm, he participates in the sixty-first edition of the Venice Biennale, hosted in the pavilion of Cameroon at the prestigious rooms of Palazzo Donà Dalle Rose. His project explores the roots of humanity, offering a deep and reflective look at human history and identity.
